  3. Hi, you have mentioned all valid points. But I wish there was a way to remember the passwords easily. I really have a tough time keeping them in my memory bank. Though I also have 2 factor authentication for my blog and find it really useful.

  4. Oops I always save my passwords on my personal laptop. Hmmm maybe I need to rethink this strategy. But I’m careful with my banking passwords. Loved the way you have put the info in an easy to understand infographic.

  5. Hi Jayanti! Your rules for password hygiene are apt and to the point. About saving the password, I am guilty of doing that as it eases work everytime we go back to it… Will be more careful and maintain more password hygiene now on… Short and very informative blog!

  6. I practice most of these tips but I am guilty of feeding passwords into certain sites! It is so difficult to remember them all! What do you think of using Facebook or Google to authenticate passwords?

  7. Very useful guidelines, Jayanthi. As I don’t save passwords, I’ve been locked out of a few of my social media accounts as I couldn’t remember any recovery credentials! 😛

    I do follow many of these rules of mixed characters, changing frequently.
    It’s a tedious process to remember these secret stars still they are the must for logins, so password hygiene as the term you used is very essential for health of our digital platforms.

  10. Jayanthi, these are some important and must-follow rules for password hygiene. It has been emphasized so many times by various videos and whatsapp messages too that sharing passwords or OTPs is an absolute no. But I have observed that most of the times, the elderly community fall pray to many frauds and phishing only because they shared the passwords or OTPS with someone. Luckily for me, I don’t save my passwords in computer but at times, with so many websites and accounts I tend to forget them and have often felt the need to reset them. Also, two-factor authentication is very helpful in keeping one’s account safe. Useful and informative blog!
