Isn’t the human body an amazing work? We can try, but we human beings can never make something like this.

The food:

Our bodies react to the type of food that is given to it. When we are young, the body is more forgiving and we can eat anything we want. We can gorge on sweets, oily food and any type of meat and the body does not complain much then. We might not have any weight gain or any diseases as our metabolism is quite high.

If we continue to eat the same type of food all through our life, we are always in for a surprise. The body starts to complain more as we get older and we find ourselves straddled with different types of ailments. Weight gain becomes a reality and other ailments follow along… 🙁

Food is called as medicine in Tamil. “Unave, marundhu” the saying goes…

Exercise:

We have all heard that exercise is good for health and I see most people atleast walking. The more enthusiastic ones are pursuing other forms of exercise too.

While walking itself is good for health and it is the simplest form of exercise to do, other forms of exercise like Yoga, going to the gym, running, jogging, swimming all offer different types of benefits.

While no exercise instantly benefits the body and mind, there are little benefits that gradually add up over time.

So, as many practitioners advise, it is imperative to do some type of exercise to have a good body and mind.

Mind-Body connection:

It is quite an irony that sometimes, it is the mind that holds the key to our body and its progress. When things start going wrong physically, it is the mind that might need strength. If we think we have to recover faster, we might recover faster. If we think we are doomed then, things start getting worser even faster.

But it is quite tiring to keep thinking of positive things when things are just not going the right way (I know this and I am sure many people have experienced this as well)

It is here that exercises and physical activity will help to overcome the difficulties of the body and mind and both will recover and prosper faster.

We can go to the moon, create a superior AI model, do things much more efficiently but we can never create anything like the human body!

  1. “If we think we have to recover faster, we might recover faster. If we think we are doomed then, things start getting worser even faster.” – Probably this is the mantra of family. When hubby and wife motivate each other when one of them are down.
