I have been writing/blogging since 2012. Now, that is a long time to be writing and blogging, right? Through my writing journey, I have also published two physical books and my writing is also featured in an anthology.
To recap, I blog on Information security, privacy, programming and technical topics. AI is my new area of interest(like everybody else! :)) In addition, my technical posts are also peppered with personal posts every once in a while.
While, I like to write technical posts, I have realized that I cannot write on all the topics all the time! (face palm!) Here are some other things I cannot do when writing:
- While my primary area of interest was and is always ‘Information Security’, I cannot write about every other topic that seems to come my way like Azure or AWS or Kubernetes (saying this, just as an example) It is to be noted that a 500 word blog post needs perfection, accuracy, research and original analysis. Since each new technical topic requires a lot of study and research, it does take more time to complete the writeup. In addition, if the new technical topic is not interesting enough for me, I am not able to do justice to it and write it well. So, bottom line is that I am not able to write on topics that don’t interest me.
- In addition, if I have written on a particular topic in one way, I struggle to rewrite it in any other way again….(face palm again :() Has it happened to you also? Can you write on a topic in different ways and different angles? I lose the inspiration to write on the same topic again.
