Now, that all of us are drowned in AI in some way or other – whether it be for writing, creating images or solving any complicated problem, let us see a bit more technical aspect to AI – “AI Agents” in this post.

What are AI agents?

AI agents solve simple/complex business requirements apart from just chatting with users.

As an example, if you would like to travel next Wednesday to New York from your place, an “AI agent” can be designed to connect with a weather app which will forecast next Wednesday’s weather in New York and help you plan your travel accordingly(but it does need to know other personal details where you are currently and when/how you will be travelling)

AI agents can also automate many business requirements and do it at a much faster pace than human beings without human intervention and by thinking on their own.

In addition, they have memory by means of which they can remember your previous interactions and help you with future ones.

If necessary, they can connect with mutiple tools to make decisions.

Various industries have embraced AI agents to simplify their day to day tasks and other difficult business activities. Some of them are:

  1. Banking and financial sector
  2. Insurance
  3. IT and development
  4. Telecommunications
  5. Supply Chain and more

Interestingly, ChatGPT is a partial AI agent. While it can respond to your queries, it cannot directly do other tasks like emailing a contact, book appointments or make a call.

A simple AI agent takes an input from the user, follows an AI workflow, processes it and then produces an output. The processing might involve connecting to Excel sheets, Google calendar or any other software to accomplish the desired task.

Some examples of business AI agents are:

  1. High paying bill enquiries from customers
  2. Seamless onboarding employee agent by HR
  3. Fraud detection and anti money laundering

You cn create your own AI agents too for any of your own idead after gaining a lot of knowledge as well 🙂

This is a simple illustration of an AI agent. Here, we can see the user giving the input, the AI model doing the reasoning and producing the desired output.

  1. This post is like asking Sachin to comedown as an opening batsman – a bold and impressive move! Well done. However it sets a huge expectation for the rest of your 25 posts. We – the readers – are waiting with wide eyes and eager minds to be filled with your content.

    Ok! Question time.
Even with social media companies and email service providers selling our data or using it for their advertising, are AI agents the new way of collecting my private data? I’m really nervous about this….

    1. Maybe….anything is possible to steal data….maybe a blog post to address this? 😉

Lets hope the remaining 25 posts don’t veer away too much from my main aim of posting on technology….

      1. I am seriously..seriously..seriously… thinking about ditching public chat interfaces and having my own at my own computer. Still the data be exposed to LLM APIs. But it won’t be there in their chatbot forever. The amount of data getting leaked is enormous.
