This post might be particularly more understandable to those in the Information security domain and the certification aspirants! 🙂

Shon Harris:

  1. Shon Harris is the author of highly popular book ‘All in one CISSP, Exam Guide'(CISSP is the world’s leading Information security certification)
  2. I have the physical copy of the book
  3. Her book runs for a whopping 1108 pages!
  4. It is based on the old set of objectives for the CISSP exam
  5. I have been reading her book from 2009! :)(it was part of my reference book for most of my M.S. courses)
  6. It is my bible for all Information security concepts even today!
  7. I love her way of writing which is nice to understand! 🙂
  8. I switched from programming to information security after reading her book!
  9. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2014

Adam Gordon:

  1. Adam Gordon is the author of the ‘Official Guide to CISSP CBK’ from (ISC)2
  2. It is based on the new set of objectives for the CISSP exam
  3. It runs for an even bigger whopping 1564 pages!
  4. The people who are trying to get certified in CISSP after 2017 might be aware of this book only and not the Shon Harris book
  5. My reading and understanding of the book is still under progress… 🙂

If you have read both the books, what do you think of both the books?

  1. I am in the information technology field and have a lot of experience in programming. But I have never done an in depth study of information security. A book of 1564 pages! Wow that sounds really comprehensive…

    1. Yes, Jai – the CISSP certification is supposed to be an inch deep and a mile wide – hence the book is so huge…
You are motivating to write on programming too!! 🙂 🙂
