‘Ramayana’ is the noble epic and greatest epic written by Sage Valmiki. In this great epic, Lord Rama is the illustrious son of King Dasaratha and Queen Kausalya. Queen Kausalya is the first wife of King Dasaratha. “Rama” is a very powerful name. The entire Ramayana shows Lord Rama’s righteous journey.
Lord Rama rules over Ayodhya with his wife Sita happily after his father King Dasaratha passes away. By strange set of events, Lord Rama is banished to the forests for 14 years. He leaves for the forests along with Goddess Sita and Lakshmana. During their 14 year stay, Sita gets kidnapped by Ravana and he takes her to Lanka. Sita stays imprisoned in Lanka in the hope that Lord Rama will rescue her soon. Lord Rama along with the monkey forces led by Lord Hanuman set to Lanka and free Goddess Sita. They return to Ayodhya and this day is celebrated with great happiness and pomp as ‘Diwali’ in India! This in a nut shell is Valmiki’s Ramayana.
