Have you heard about Clubhouse? If you haven’t heard about it, here are a few details about the app which made headlines when Elon Musk and Bill Gates popped into Clubhouse chats in January! In the age of raging picture apps, exclusive video apps, Clubhouse is a refreshing change and might be a total game changer in the future!
- Clubhouse was launched in March 2020 by Paul Davison and Rohan Seth of Alpha Exploration Co.
- It is an audio chat app that is available only on the App store for iPhone
- Visit their site at https://www.joinclubhouse.com/
- Even though the app was initially only “invite only”, one can now just download it from the corresponding app stores(both Android and Apple)
- Once you have logged into ‘Clubhouse’ , you can drop in for an audio chat with friends or anybody. You can remain as a listener in the various audio chat rooms or you can talk and participate actively and learn from everybody in real time.
- When you are chatting with your friends, you can only see the profile picture of the user. There are no videos or pictures.
- As of today, users can chat with each other only using the iPhone
- Topics in ‘Clubhouse’ can range from Faith, Wellness, Tech, Places and Life
- When you are having an audio chat, only the profile picture is displayed and there are no videos or pictures.
- Clubhouse supports “Family sharing” and it supports up to six family members
- There can be a maximum of 5000 people in a chat room
- Chat rooms come and go as users enter the chats and exit the room.
- Conversations in the chat rooms might be recorded and then discarded (though this aspect is not definite as of yet)
- It is not easy to quit Clubhouse. If you do want to quit, you will have to send a mail and hope that it will accepted.
- There are several celebrities who have accounts in Clubhouse
It is a certainty that Clubhouse variants will definitely sprout in the coming years. Here’s to technology keeping us all excited and happy! 🙂

Thanks for this- Clubhouse is still new for me-I do hop around the rooms but nothing has really caught my fancy yet.
I hope you find a good room and can write about it! 🙂
