This post might be particularly more understandable to those in the Information security domain and the certification aspirants! 🙂
Shon Harris:
- Shon Harris is the author of highly popular book ‘All in one CISSP, Exam Guide'(CISSP is the world’s leading Information security certification)
- I have the physical copy of the book
- Her book runs for a whopping 1108 pages!
- It is based on the old set of objectives for the CISSP exam
- I have been reading her book from 2009! :)(it was part of my reference book for most of my M.S. courses)
- It is my bible for all Information security concepts even today!
- I love her way of writing which is nice to understand! 🙂
- I switched from programming to information security after reading her book!
- Unfortunately, she passed away in 2014
Adam Gordon:
- Adam Gordon is the author of the ‘Official Guide to CISSP CBK’ from (ISC)2
- It is based on the new set of objectives for the CISSP exam
- It runs for an even bigger whopping 1564 pages!
- The people who are trying to get certified in CISSP after 2017 might be aware of this book only and not the Shon Harris book
- My reading and understanding of the book is still under progress… 🙂
If you have read both the books, what do you think of both the books?

I am in the information technology field and have a lot of experience in programming. But I have never done an in depth study of information security. A book of 1564 pages! Wow that sounds really comprehensive…
Yes, Jai – the CISSP certification is supposed to be an inch deep and a mile wide – hence the book is so huge…
You are motivating to write on programming too!! 🙂 🙂
