How many of us can say we weren’t bitten by the ‘Shark Tank India’ show while it was being aired? I know the current season got over but still I was quite mesmerized by the show. My sister first suggested the show to me and I did enjoy it after a while. I did not get to watch season 1 even though, I could feel the buzz around me.

First thing, I have always been amazed by the fact, that in India everybody wants to be or is already an entrepreneur – this luxury was not there for us for those who were living in the US – since we were always stuck with visa cycles, green card cycles or the citizenship wait(You cannot start a business in a visa, obviously) So, I observed this trend when I stepped into India 13 years ago. I always admire the people who set out on their own financial journey and have enough confidence and people around to support them.

So, how was Shark Tank India 2?

As most of you might be knowing Shark Tank India is a spinoff of the American version with the same name. There are entrepreneurs who present their projects and ideas in front of the sharks or judges to attract investments.

The Sharks or judges who came to the season 2 were:

Namita Thapar(Emcure Pharmaceuticals)

Aman Gupta(Boat)

Peyush Bansal(LensKart)

Anupam Mittal(Shaadi.com)

Vineeta Singh(Sugar cosmetics)

Amit Jain(CarDekho)

All the judges are highly educated and come with superb business acumen.

I did like the pitches of all the entrepreneurs. They do a lot of work before coming in. Is it scripted(maybe, yes…after all we don’t want to get shamed on national TV) Entrepreneurs showed off their cookware, new social network called ‘Hood’, ambulance services, cake and baking, healthy snacking and more. I was truly mesmerized by the limitless mind and its ideas.

I am not a business woman and I cannot predict which business might do well in the future and which needs funding or not, but was quite interesting to see how some businesses got funded while others did not.

Overall, I had a fun experience looking at the business side of things rather than seeing the InfoSec side of things or the programming side of things or the Threat Modeling side of things!! 😉

Which was your favorite Shark Tank India episode? And who was your favorite Shark? 🙂
