The second Covid wave has not been very kind to most of us in India. There can not be one person who has not been touched by this terrible calamity. In trying times like these, it is difficult for most of us to remain calm and composed. If you are already a person having panic attacks and have soaring anxiety levels, it is good follow some mental health tips to preserve your peace :
- The most obvious thing is always to tune off television and all news channels. If you get too panicky, it is good to tune off completely.
- However, if you can tolerate a bit of daily news, it is good to catch up on just a bit of news developments on television.
- The next obvious thing is to turn off social media as well. Repeatedly seeing sad content on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp or any other social media will only fuel anxiety levels. It is better tune off completely for a while or reduce your time on it.
- ‘Whatsapp University’ flourishes with so many of us. It is good to disable all video and picture automatic downloads on Whatsapp. Most of us know the reality around us. Looking at any other videos or pictures is not going to help the situation.
- It is also good to not to believe all that we read or see on Whatsapp.
- So, how do we know what is going on around us by tuning everything off? It will be good to always have good conversations with family and friends and talk about other things in life (and mention Covid somewhere) This will surely give a boost to our positivity and keep us on the right track.
- I would also recommend to do some activities that keep you happy. Activities such as writing, reading a nice book, cooking or playing a game with the kids – all boost one’s happiness.
- Last but not least, the pandemic has showed us that there is a superior power over us! Let us pray with all our heart to melt the pandemic away!
