We all know that there are businesses that are affected by the advent of AI. At this point of time, it is no secret whether businesses will be disrupted, it is sure that THEY WILL BE!!
In its simplest terms, AI automates tasks in a much more easier way, and produces recommendations(Netflix recommendations anyone?)
What are the businesses that are being affected by AI? Or where can I see AI so far?
I can see AI in the following fields;
- Content writing
- Coding
- Culinary industry(recipe generator)
- Video creation(text to video creation)
- Healthcare
- Retail
- Privacy industry
- Threat modeling
- InfoSec domain
- Travel industry(drawing out itineraries)
and much, much more….!
Let us see a few of them in greater detail;
Content writing;
It is no secret that this is the first profession under attack from AI. Ask ChatGPT or any other AI tool to vomit out a few words on any topic and boom! it writes a few words or sentences for you neatly(now, we cannot be sure of the content, but it does give you a good starting point)
On the flip side, it is good to know proper writing itself, so that we can spot the errors generated by AI. In the future, I think we will have needs for synthetic content as well as OG(if you need the definition of OG, message me! :)) content created by proper humans! 😉
Coding:
AI generated code might be the future and one might hear words like “We don’t have to learn programming anymore”, but I don’t think we are fully there yet. For now, AI can generate code, but as with the content writing industry, AI generated code needs to be human reviewed and mistakes have to be detected and rectified appropriately.
Further, I am not sure whether AI can generate code for a massive application that spans multiple teams and multiple versions.
We still have to wait for AI 2.0 or AI 3.0 to witness large scale transformation of AI coding.
Medical:
In the medical field in the US, AI can be used to take notes about patient visits from audio conversations with them.
It maybe a possibility in the future for doctors to make a diagnosis with the help of AI(I don’t think it is practiced quite commonly as yet)
Video creation:
I had already penned about ‘Sora’ – the text to video AI model creator that is totally mesmerizing. ‘Sora’ can create videos from text that can be about a minute a long.
Whatever be the industry, we as humans are eager to adopt it and see if it will help us. AI takes decisions based on large language models and huge amounts of data about us itself to help us!! (a good way to do it! :()
The privacy, ethical and fairness issues are all points worth considering for the AI evolution.
