The latest trend dominating my technical headlines is the ‘AI Caricature trend’.

I personally love these trends and get carried away a little before the privacy and security part of me wakes up just in time! 🙂

How does this trend work?

All you have to do is go to chatgpt.com and type this prompt(this is assuming that you already have an account)

Prompt: “Create a caricature of me and my job based on everything you know about me. I’ve also attached my photo for reference”

Now, ChatGPT creates an almost good caricature of you with all the fine details based on your past prompts and the photo that you have provided.

The Internet is “Wowed” by the exact likeness to the real life.

Should we be worried?

All of us have a certain amount of tolerance of how much we want to share on social media. This is our “social media personality”. While some of us are excited to share everything, others share only important milestones and there are many others who don’t share anything at all(thank heavens for these people! :))

But it is always good to know the implications of sharing before actually doing it.

The implication is, when we give ChatGPT access to our photo and data, when we are in the grip of a viral trend, AI might just gobble your data for training purposes and use it elsewhere. So, our privacy is lost in the AI trend. So, whatever be your personality, it is good to use the AI caricature trend with care.

We all know by now that all AI models are trained on the data that we have provided on multiple spaces on social media. All the data strewn across the Internet has been used to train these models and return nearly perfect answers to us. So, your photos, images, questions, answers, blog posts, posts on social media have been scraped and used to train these models.

It is really worriesome when ChatGPT creates an exact likeness of our image and we should really be happy if it creates wrong things based on our prompt!

Having said these things, should you really do the ‘AI caricature trend’?

I would say depends on your social media personality

If you really want to do the trend, know the implications of AI model storing your picture and conversations for its training purposes

You can follow the trend by not posting a photo of yourself and giving the same prompt to ChatGPT(you will not get an accurate answer – but you will get an answer!)

You can also turn ‘Off’ this option in ChatGPT :

‘Improve the model for everyone’ in the ‘Settings’ so that it is not used for any training purposes anywhere.

Have a safe time keeping up with all the trends!
